NHS New Member Process

There are several steps in the selection of National Honor Society Members.

1. Teachers evaluate the candidates in the areas of character, scholarship, leadership, and service. A student much be recommend by a majority of his or her teachers. These will be in on March 11th They are in. The data base is being built to send the letters out!

2. A letter with the application for possible membership will be sent home to those student who have received recommendation. These should be out by March 17th. Letters are out!!!

3. Applications will be due by March 28th. You can find this on line at nhs.tawas.net You can type on-line and print but you can not save. Sample application on-line now.

4. A committee will then evaluate each applications. These are blind evaluations - there will be no name on the applications that are given to the committee. This process should be completed by April 17th.

5. Those who have made the final selection will be notified by mail. Letters went out April 18th. There are 15 new members who will be inducted on April 29th. If you did not get a letter see Ms. del Rio if you have any questions or would like suggestions on how to improve your resume for next year.


Blood Drive

The NHS blood was a great success. 47 people showed up to give blood. 37 of those coming out March 4th were new donors. Our goal was 34 units of blood and we made 37!!!
